Endings and Beginnings

The last few months of 2013 was a hectic rush of nonstop busyness for me, up to the point where I just wanted to get away from it all. Apart from the late nights at work, trying to meet seemingly impossible deadlines, and then returning to work the following day, trying to cram every last minute into getting both old and new projects out before the end of the year, I also decided to write a 50,000 word novel in a month’s time and I published the first volume of a series of poetry books that I had been working on throughout the year. When the work year finally ended I too was finished but I was fortunate enough to spend some time with my family before heading off for a two week solo holiday in Tofo, Mozambique.

I am now back at work again, after a most epic time in Mozambique, and since my trip I have been pondering the things I wish to accomplish during this new year  and I have also been thinking about the general course that I am heading towards on my life’s meandering journey. The later part I have not yet delved in to, too much, although I have had some ideas and thoughts that I have considered, but as for my goals for 2014 I have already written the major ones down, those things I want to achieve in the first trimester of the new year.

Most of the goals I have set are aimed at continuing my writing projects and getting to a point where I can hopefully publish my first novel. I also want to publish the next two volumes in my series of poetry books called Thoughts Discovered. Then there is my musical project, Soultrek, and the first album that I have been working on since last year, which is almost ready for release. And finally I want to continue with the first drafts of two other stories that have been floating in my head for the last few years. There is also a children’s short story that I started writing, about a Knight and a Squire, which I want to continue and hopefully finish in the middle of the year.

As you can see I have my hands full so I better get to it. But before I go I want to leave you with a thought.

All things come to end, and the better they are the harder they are to leave behind, but just as the sun sets so it will rise again to reveal anew the beauty of the Earth and of Life. And so this new day reveals to us a new and different adventure to take, a new road leading ahead, for when things end new things, in turn, begin.

Until we meet again.
